System requirements#

Requirement
Operating systemWindows 10 or Windows 11
AudioAt least one ASIO device (hardware driver or ASIO4ALL)
Architecture64-bit

Routling is Windows only. It uses Windows audio APIs directly, and there is no macOS or Linux build.

Installing#

You need an ASIO device#

Routling will not start routing without one. Open Device showing "No ASIO devices found" means you need a driver.

If you have an audio interface#

Install the manufacturer's ASIO driver - Focusrite, RME, MOTU, Behringer, PreSonus and others all supply one. Prefer the manufacturer's driver over a generic wrapper; it will be lower latency and more stable.

If you do not#

ASIO4ALL is a free generic ASIO driver that wraps ordinary Windows audio devices. It lets Routling run on built-in laptop audio or any USB device without its own ASIO driver.

Latency will be higher than real ASIO hardware, but it works.

First launch#

Routling starts in the system tray and opens its window.

On first run there is no device open, so the canvas shows a prompt to open one. Continue with Your First Route.
